Agency business is people's business. and our staff is definitively our important asset. So the group pours enormous resources, what's more, the senior executives dedicates vast amount of time into unleashing the potential of our manpower.

Professionalism

In the past few years, the group has raised the number of staff with professional qualifications. This is an effort of the group to enhance the staff quality and service standard, and of course, the market position of the group has been enhanced as a result.

Comments of our frontline :

1. Hong Kong people are highly educated, and more importantly, they are really analytical. To fulfill the appetite of our clients, we really need the market analyses and information provided by our research department.
2. After the establishments of EAA, the agency industry has become more and more regulated. The involvement of our in-house legal experts can really facilitate the whole buy-n-sell process. In my view, our strong legal support is definitely one of our edges.
3. Without the professional inputs from our Surveying Department, our team could not have brokered an en-bloc sale in XXX.


MA Program

Midland has launched Management Associate (MA) program since 2006. Throughout all these years, the MA program has helped built a pool of talented and professional young executives who are outstanding graduates from local or overseas universities . After going through a vigorous selection process, the management associates have been attached to various professional and functional units in Hong Kong and Mainland China. On top of on-job training, they also have had opportunities to join a range of training and development programs.

I joined Midland in 2006. After attaching to various departments and turning into a qualified accountant, I am now well-settled at the finance department. Not only does Midland provide me the exposures to the vibrant business environment, but also helps me build my career.

Recruited through the MA program in 2008, I have taken numerous roles at numerous functional units. Frankly speaking, property agency business is not as easy as it seems. Indeed, the management team of Midland is strongly capable of leading this list company to the next level. Staff Development and Training

Agency business is people business, so needless to say, our employees are one our most valuable assets. The group chairman, Mr. Freddie Wong has had a strong conviction in life-long learning and he has kept pouring massive resources in staff development and training. As early as in 1979, Midland established the Training and Development Department, responsible for organizing professional training to its in-house staff. In 1999, in an effort to strengthen its function, the department was transformed to "Midland U", dedicated itself to provide professional training such as CPD courses, multi-media online learning platform, certificate program under the cover of the Continuous Fund, Diploma in Real Estate Agency Management, professional book publishing and management game set, etc. Moreover the MidlandU has received a certificate of ISO09001:2000 the Best Practice Award 2006 - Simplicity. In addition, the MidlandU upholds the highest passing rate in the qualifying examinations of the real estates agents.

To lift up the morale of the group elites, Ms. Angela Wong handpicked a group of senior sales management to join the "Leadership Summit - Fighting Spirit reaches Sky High" , a management training and development program convened in Macau.

Culture Building

"We are Midlanders", this is one of the most valuable and intangible properties of our corporate culture. The strong sense of belonging stems from the management mottos that 1) Performance leads to promotion II) Internal promotion is preferred to external appointment. Indeed, most of the sales management staff has served the group for a lengthy period; for instance, about three quarters of the sales directors of Midland Realty have been working for the company over ten years*. More importantly, the participative style leadership adopted by the management has further cemented the bonding among all level of staff.

Having a strong belief in the importance of motivation and communication, Ms. Angela Wong regularly delivers keynote address during the all staff meeting.
