The Group believes in giving back to the society and living
up to corporate social responsibility and has been living
up to this principle for a number of years. For the
eighth year in a row, the Group was named a "Caring
Company" with various member companies, including
Midland Realty, Midland IC&I and Hong Kong Property
Agency.
Series of Donations
The Midland Charitable Foundation donated $300,000 to
various service organisations, including the Hong Kong
Island Private Hospitals Chaplaincy Committee, Kwong
Wah Hospital, the Wong Tai Sin Hospital Chaplaincy,
the Hong Kong Christian Cancer Care Association and
the Hong Kong Gospel Martial Arts Ministry.
Walk for Millions
A VIP team formed by the Group's residential property
division joined the Community Chest Walks for Millions
in 2011 and raised funds in the name of the Midland
Charitable Foundation.
Hike for Hospice Care
Members of the management team once again joined the
Society for the Promotion of Hospice Care's Hike for
Hospice to raise funds. Donations raised were channeled
through the Midland Charitable Foundation for hospice
care and other community causes. 2011 was the eighth
year the Group participated in the event.
Martial Arts Tournament
The Group was invited to participate in the eighth round
of the "Lifeline Express Martial Arts Tournament"
held in 2011, again to raise funds for worthy causes.

Charity Race
The Deputy Chairman and Deputy Managing Director of
the Group, Ms Angela Wong, and the then Deputy Chairman of
the Group, Mr. Albert Wong led volunteers from its various
member companies to participate in the Lifeline Express
"Charity Run/Walk" to raise funds for the
visually impaired.
Raising Fund for Special
School
At the Fifth Midland Cup Races, the Midland Charitable
Foundation called for donations to help a school for
children with special needs. Staff donated their time
as well as cash, raising $80,000 for the Chi Yun School
in Sham Shui Po, Kowloon.

Heart-to-Heart Project
The Group participated in the Heart-to-Heart Project
organised by the Hong Kong Federation of Youth Groups
to subsidize schools and to help organise volunteers
among young people so as to teach civil-mindedness and
spread the community spirit.

of Islamic Dharwood Pau Memorial Primary School visited
the Heep Hong Society Mary Wong Centre
and spent a joyful afternoon with three to five years
old kids with developmental delay.

Joining force with the students of Po Leung Kuk 1984
College and the employees of the Hong Kong Federation
of Youth Group, staff of the Group paid visit to the senior
living alone at Ming Tak Estate and hosted a pre-Easter celebration.

living alone. Presenting Zongzi, sticky rice dumplings
wrapped in bamboo leaves at the eve of Dragon Boat Festival,

Open University - Debate
Contest
The Group hosted the first open debate contest and invited
the undergraduates and the general public to participate
in the debate on the topic "Whether Hong Kong property
market is irrationally exuberant?" This pioneering
event has drawn the attention of the market practitioners
and the general public.
Rotary Club Talk
At a Rotary Club of Kowloon West luncheon, Mr. Albert Wong, the then Deputy
Chairman of the Group, shared his viewpoints
on the property market at a talk titled "The
'Tai Chi approach' to property outlook."
Enhancing the transparency
of the Hong Kong property market
As a market leader, the Group always strives to enhance
the transparency of the housing sector. The Group's
website offers comprehensive information and analysis
on the market trend.
Professional training program
Midland University offered 540 classes in 2011, providing
various internal training courses to over 27,000 counts
of participants. Training programs ranged from law &
regulations, business ethics to professional sales skills
and customer services.
Licensing courses for property
agents
In an effort to enhance the professional standards of
the industry, Midland University has offered licensing
courses for property agents for many years. More
than 5,000 counts of the general public took the preparation
courses for the qualifying examinations.
Cross Industry Exchange
In May 2011, the elites of the Group met with representatives
of the Hong Kong Police College, fostering cross-industry
sharing and exchange of knowledge and experience.
Making Contributions to the Prosperity of Hong Kong
Professional Development
at the Open University of Hong Kong
As a pioneering effort, the Group donated $2 million
to the Open University of Hong Kong to launch the first
Midland Real Estate Professional Development Project.
A "Real Estate Industry Summit" as part of
the launch ceremony. The program offers two-year courses
aiming to raise professional and ethical standards of
the industry; it also serves as a self-learning
platform for the market participants and general public,
fostering the conviction of "Understand First Then
Invest"
The 7th Guangzhou Investment
& Financing Expo
Despite his tight schedule, Mr. Albert Wong,
the then Deputy Chairman of the Group attended the 7th Guangzhou
Investment & Financing Expo. Mr. Wong delivered a keynote
speech featuring his philosophy of investment and Tai Chi and held a book signing event at Pazhou,
Guangzhou, the largest convention centre in Asia. The presentation
drawn overwhelming response.
2011 SMART Investment &
International Property Expo
The representatives of the Group were invited to be
the guest speakers at the 2011 SMART Investment &
International Property Expo, which was held at HKCEC.
Presenting the topic "The revelation of the success
of property investing", the speakers shared their views
and investment models with the audiences.
Talk organized by HKUST
MBA Alumni Association
Two years in a row, the Group joined the talk organised
by HKUST Association and shared the view on the
trend of the property market. In 2011, our Chief Analyst,
Mr. Buggle Lau, delivered a keynote presentation entitled
"The effect of future supply on Hong Kong Property"
; his speech received positive response.
Nurturing the next generation
As the Member of the Advisory Board of HKU Business
Association, Ms. Angela Wong, the Deputy Chairman and
Deputy Managing Director of the Group, has a strong
tie with University of Hong Kong. For the past few years, a
number of Midland executives were invited to share their
experience and knowledge on management with students
at University of Hong Kong, nurturing the next generation
of Hong Kong.
In January 2011, the management of the Group was invited
to share their views on the contributions of property
agency industry to the development of the financial
sector in Hong Kong with the undergraduates of the Open
University of Hong Kong.
